Explanation
Web Service Composition and Execution
|
With the
arrival of new technological patterns related to the integration of
components through web services and the popularization of service-oriented
architectures, it is visible that web services are a promising technology for
an effective automation of the integration process of distributed and
web-independent applications. This integration process has led to the
conception of the so-called "virtual organizations", where
organizations are dynamically coupled/composed in a
way to attend to a specific objective (or many). In parallel, software agents
begin to play a new role: the problem solving one. In this case, agents
search, compose and execute services that are available on the web in order
to solve problems specified by users or by another program/agent. The
dynamism and automatism of this composition can imply doubts, what justifies
the need for explanation. Our research focuses on explanation of automatic
and semi-automatic composition of web services performed by agents solving
problems. This project is under development. http://www.w3.org/2001/sw |
