A Process-oriented and Ontology-based Methodology for the Construction of         Multi-Agent Systems to support Knowledge Management

Multi-agent Systems (MAS) have been considered as an alternative for the construction of the Organizational Memory (OM), supporting the Knowledge Management (KM) in organizations. The agents´ autonomy, pro-activity and ability to interact help in the creation of functional KM solutions. This project proposes a methodology for the MAS's conception. The approach starts with the organizational processes analysis to accomplish the knowledge modeling, followed by the use of a KM ontology to guide intelligent agents' identification. The agents are generated by a framework, from a library of behaviors specialized in KM activities, which use Artificial Intelligence technologies (search algorithms, case based reasoning, inductive learning, etc.). The generated MAS is associated with business processes, allowing their inclusion in the user work context, thus, capturing and recovering knowledge in a continuous and transparent manner.

Status of the project : Applying a case study.
